Lien made Jjajangmyeon 짜장면

I know it's been a while since I posted a picture of Lien's creations. She's been a bit busy! Last week she made the Black Bean Noodles, but I didn't have time to post. I was dealing with some massive "stuff" at work, and I was down in the dumps. It’s okay not to be okay. And I was NOT okay.




Back to Lien and her noodles. She did an AWESOME job. They looked a-mazzzing. Lien did say she ended up with a runnier sauce, but I think she put in too much chicken stock. Here's my tip to fix a runnier sauce - potato starch. Add some starch to a few tablespoons of cold water, stir until incorporated and then add the slurry to your sauce and wait for it to thicken.




Super proud of my sister Lien. Even though she's busy with life, work and moving into a new house, she's really taken to cooking. I can't wait until we are finally reunited, and she can make me dinner again.


And her photography skills have definitely improved. Bravo, Lien! Love you!
